From declined to bond-ready
68.03% of credit applications in South Africa are declined. Pokkit Score, Gateway's credit rehabilitation partner, helps you get a credit score for the first time, or improve one, by saving your own money instead of borrowing.
Build credit without borrowing
Pay a fixed amount into a 12-month Save & Build Plan. Every payment is reported to the major South African credit bureaus, while your savings earn interest in a money market fund.
- 12-month Save & Build Plan, structured as a redeemable savings voucher
- Choose R200 – R4 000 per month, adjustable in R100 steps
- Payments reported to the major credit bureaus
- Savings earn interest in the Allan Gray Money Market Fund (not guaranteed)
- Authorised financial services provider (FSP 51291)
- SACRRA member (SRN XY3684)
What it costs
A R49 monthly service fee (incl. VAT) is deducted from each payment — on R500 a month, R451 goes to your savings. Early Access and end-of-term withdrawals are free; Standard Bank ATM cash withdrawals cost R20 and early cancellation R80.
Reported results
Pokkit reports first credit scores typically after 2–3 payments, and 80% of low-score customers improving after 5–6 payments. Results vary and are not guaranteed, and a better score does not guarantee bond approval.
